Your Truth

You speak the truth
Or you think you do
Or you believe what you say
Is really true.

Yet the moment you say it
You sow the seeds to the lie
For your truth is unsustained
Pray tell me why?

What you say truthfully
Is never said in jest
Yet gets altered in the telling
A casualty like the rest

 So why make promises
When your words are untrue
I always listen to them rhyming
But I’d be a fool to believe you.
