Time To Go

I can not take this place anymore.
Where all my family and friends are all driving down dead ends.
They keep smoking and drinking without stopping and thinking,
that there is more to it.
This thing we call life.
I know no more than he or she,
only that this path we are taking is not our true destiny.
I'm a passenger on this same road,
not following or leading but driving blindlessly,
thinking of the times when we all had gaols and dreams.
Remembering the talents, fantasies, original thoughts, and confident feelings.
Except now when I look at these faces hiding behind smoke and empty glasses,
I realize that this is not the truth,
only a false happiness, leading to bitter emptiness.
No more confidence, fantasies, goals, and dreams.
More or less distant memories.
This is why I must stop looking into these faces and depart onward into new
places.
I must wake up and start a new dream,
not positive of what it is, but goal orientated.
With new surroundings and new opportunities,
this dream is valid filled with possibilities.
Someday you will all see,
when I return smiling happily,
to bring you with me.
I will never lose hope as long as my heart lives on to dream another dream.
