THE WEEPING WIND

I am the weeping wind
Do you hear me cry?
In the stillness of the night I sigh
It's loneliness that breathes
Through the rustling of leaves
It is the darkness of the soul
It is me, made unwhole
It is fear that makes me weep
It is love that lies asleep

I am the weeping wind
It is I, I who have sinned
In the wildness of thought
I have found things unsought
In things said, I have been undone
In the darkness of my soul, there is no sun

I am weeping in the night
I am seeking the light
Please don't let me cry
Don't say goodbye.
