The Butterfly

Let me play among the flowers
Sway to the music of the wind
Flit from colour to colour
In gentle, captive grace

I am the butterfly
I know no prison,
while I am free
And I go where I will,
can't you see?

Don't fence me with reality
I will not conform
Don't fence me with expectations
For that I was not born

Let me perch
on the cornerstone of your heart
And you can admire my wings
For time is fleeting, don't you think?
