Something for you .... Something because of you

Once upon a time, not too long ago
Neither far away (like some tales seem to go)
There was this ‘King’; that is what ‘Raj’ means
Waltzing thru childhood, racing thru his teens

Somewhere in between those years his values, they were built
On an edifice so strong that he didn’t fear guilt
Of a very many things, he had some weird notions
Of honesty and commitments, relationships n’ emotions

He learnt that right was right and that wrong was wrong
Whether spoken with a smile, a poetry or song
Who knows who ever told him, to stand up for his views
Ignoring the scars and aches, ignoring every bruise

As you sure will agree, for a rebel mind as this
There are far too many who’d like to give a miss
To ideas and statements that don’t go by the norm
That disturb status quo and threaten raise a storm

Well this guy didn’t mind that, he knew just what he sought
He searched for the one person, like raindrops in a drought
He sought a caring woman, one who, his void would fill
One who would understand, who’d lovingly distil

Echoes of his love, reflections of his dream
From a lonely heartbeat, to discover the cream
Of the man’s desire: to find the person who
Would not drown or stifle in the love that would flow through

From a heart that beat to rhythm, one that spelt out S-M-I-L-E
The smile that comes from loving, without conditions or guile
An unhindered expression of joy that giving brought
He just knew he would find her ! Where ? When ? How ? He did not …

These lines would not be written, if not for you my dear
You had not existed, if you had not come near
To touch his soul with love, that blooms and flowers bold
In a mind which trav’d the rainbow and found it’s pot of gold !
