Dance
Of The Seven Veils
Between
the darkness and the light,
A tinkling sound of ankle bells.
The aroma of forgotten secret nights,
Reflection through hazy description tells.
Relentless mistress of sleepless souls,
Perfumed revelations in her seven veils.
On a craft made up of dreams,
Reclining now she sets to sail.
In almond eyes so deep and bold,
Recollections emerge one by one.
On tips of slumber, they trembling wait,
In moonbeams dressed, kissed by the sun.
Powdered emeralds with ruby sparks,
Flashes through a midnight mind.
Resonance ripples like crumpled silk,
Velvet images, a home they find.
Beckoning, calling, enticing smooth,
Distant murmurs, float on diamond seas.
Sanity, eclipsed by the maddening moon,
White heat flares with intensity.
Gossamer veils fall in coloured rain,
Satin shimmers under ivory skin.
Pleasure mingles, with unimagined pain,
Nothing's forbidden, in thoughts domain.
Tongues of fire above the rim,
Exploding in tiny spheres of flame.
Memories come, some sweet, some grim,
Remember not, in heavens name.
She makes the darkness swirl and dip,
Each incidence, mirrored clear and sharp.
As it happened on some fateful day,
In retrospect, more hurts the barb.
Slashing truths lacerating the air,
The last veil falls and drifts away.
Ensnared in her timeless silver eyes,
Your shadow remains, here to stay.
