A Picture

As I stand on the crest of this waterworks dam
I will try to draw a picture, and hope that you can understand
A blue sky, as blue, as can be
No where, is there a cloud to see
The trees of the forest are a brilliant green
With not a leaf stirring, any where to be seen
Birds are busy having a morning feast
For the sun has just risen, in the east
A fantail is darting here and there
Busily snatching insects out of the air
Sheep are hungrily grazing on the down stream slope
In the distance, the hills are covered in haze, it looks like smoke
The lake is smooth like a sheet of glass
On the edge, ducks are feeding in the marshy grass
A swan is happily supervising  its young
One is testing its wings, as if in a salute to the sun
This is the scene that I could see
On this autumn morning, and I would like you to share it with me
