UNWRITTEN...

Too many days have gone by,
Fighting for honour that will never come,
Lay down in the shade of believe,
Hopes that have been left undone.
Write my name in the dirt,
Where heroes have fallen in war,
The winds of oblivion will sweep it,
A memory that existed neither, nor.
Wash with tears unshed the stains,
Of weary moments and lost causes,
Let it go, watch it slip,
Life’s drama in little pauses.
The sun will rise the moon will set,
The earth will still go around,
In its roar my plea will be,
A helpless, mewling sound.
Lost, alone, unfound, unloved,
A wraith in the conflict of time,
The abandoned warrior stands desolate,
Seeking respect that once was mine.
