FAITH

How can I tell you?
What in my heart abides,
You have erected barriers,
In which you now reside.

Huge, insurmountable walls,
With nary an opening small,
How can my voice drift in?
When the fortress is so tall.

Dark, somber are the shadows,
Within which you hide,
How can my blindness find you?
When I can’t cross the rising tide,

Many days have I pondered?
How to reach within the stone,
No armies have I got to help,
I come to you alone.

But I believe in angel song,
In dreams that do come true,
I believe the walls will fall,
And I believe in you.
