Yet  Another  Dream

In the arid desert of my loneliness

Blossom the harsh and scentless flowers of my heart.

Unfulfilled desire,

Longing... deeply violet.

Weariness, drooping and wilting

Unlovely boredom

akin to the cactus...

Acceptance...

the thorny bush

Perhaps cynicism...

parasites on the tree of love

And heart-ache fashioned like a rose

whose core bears the mark of affliction.

Can you come, treading softly,

like a summer shower,

bearing the rainbow as a gift,

to quench these parched fevers

and make the desert of my heart blossom?

Yet... another dream... unfulfilled...
