Soul of Sisyphus
It is said, those the Gods want to punish
They smilingly grant them first their prayers
My soul which languishes forever banished
Will bear witness to this with eternal tears.
Little did I know of their guile and caprice
When, in each birth, I fell in love with you
I naively thought, our joys would never cease
And, our cosmic bonding would finally hold true.
But, the Gods too, I find, are jealous of human bliss
They are not content to let our happiness be
Perhaps, I am condemned eternally to lose you like this
It must be the soul of Sisyphus hidden in me.
