Shekhar was born at Faridabad (India) and spent most of his childhood at Patiala, in Punjab. He has done his MBA in Finance and Marketing and doctorate in Share Price Behavior.

He has taught at various schools of Management in India including the Indira Gandhi National Open University (New Delhi, India). Currently, he is teaching at The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad (West Indies).

Apart from his profession as a teacher, he is interested in occult sciences, literature, music, cricket, lawn tennis and traveling to far off places with a pair of binoculars and a camera.

" Due to my literary interests, I have often ventured to weave my thoughts into poetry. For a long, long time I never shared these poems with anyone. Didn't quite believe that they would come to be accepted. One does not like his most personal thoughts, coming from the deepest fibre, to be discarded. And so these words just stayed put. I have now managed to break the shell after all these years, thanx to Kavitanjali, whose web designers add so much more beauty to an idea and create lovely presentations for the poems" - Shekhar
