Nature's Fury

The world is a showcase of the achievements of man
Who has imprinted his mark wherever he can
Having taken over the earth, he reaches for the moon
And hopes to conquer space and it may happen quite soon
He accepts nothing as impossible and gives everything a try
He is tenacious  and diligent and sets his sights high
Barren deserts are made fertile and flowers,
And water's made to appear, without natural showers
Without the gift of wings, he has learnt to fly
Even birds can't keep up with him in the sky
He has overcome the challenges of seasons and times
And has learnt to endure treacherous climes

But an earthquake or a flood puts him in a sad plight
Against nature's overwhelming fury what is man's might?
Every type of insurance proves futile and
All that he has built, comes crashing to the ground
His hopes and dreams burst like a bubble
And years of his toil is reduced to mere rubble
At such stressful times of loss and pain
May he not lose heart or give up in vain
But find the strength to overcome the strife
And may God help him to rebuild his life
