MINDS EYE
Gaze into the enchanted pool
King and jester, knave and fool
Look into the limpid pool
Perceive reflections the damned and ruled
Water standing transparent still
Placid depths with submerged caves
Watch the monster emerge to kill
From swirling darkness rippling waves
The pool is mystery magic old
Of ancient myths the bards have told
Virgin priestess guards and holds
Surrounded by sands of burnished gold
Observe its depth if you dare
Heed the horror of your mind
See and sense but take care
Hear the whispers of your kind
Tender, gentle, cool and soft
Only there if you think it ought
Look into it discern the cues
Burning desire gives it different hues
Scalding waters sometimes cold
Tranquil and serene sometimes bold
Silver dreams float in its depth
Gems and jewels frozen kept
The pool is quiet it sleeps for now
Imaginings in shimmering bubbles rise
Come and gaze into the pool
Seize your vision, loves glorious prize.
