'KALI'

Stabs of lightening flashing bright,
The heavens burst with frozen light,
Celestial beings their blessings give,
Create a fury now a warrior lives.
Howling thirsty she comes with storm,
Woman, girl a god is born,
Child of force and power raw,
Straddling the winds of bloody war.
Legs of steel and arms of strength,
She crosses centuries with her length,
Shadows ingest the burning land,
Leading them, all obey her hand.
Gore on arms and snarling mouth,
Hard, calloused and flesh without.
Ululating in battles furious heat,
She is the dancer she is the beat,
Her staring eyes and blood filled gaze,
Rips away our sinful ways,
Curved sword hanging from her hips,
Poison pouring from her lips.
Holding a severed head in hand,
Fastening it onto her laden band,
Lolling tongue and drunken eyes,
She laughs each time a victim dies.
Splayed feet hold the shuddering earth,
Shaking under her colossal girth,
Black of face and body too,
Her visage drenched with crimson blood.
Strident, deafening her rasping cry,
Rivers and oceans now run dry,
Demons rise from the pits of hell,
Lunging forward she hacks and fells.
White of eyes shot with red,
Naked she fights the lord she wed.
The heavens tremble as they clash,
Strength and power meet and slash,
The dance is now one without end,
The heavens wait as wailing rends.
The gods look on the warring gods,
Send a prayer down to ward,
As he falls she looks to see,
Who her victim now can be.
When her eyes on the man alight,
She halts her furious, frenzied fight,
The skies no longer shriek and shred,
From her vision drops the red.
Sublimated she changes form,
Now a goddess, the warrior gone.
