Its A Longer Road

When I looked into your eyes
We connected and I knew.

Not what or how or why
Only that it happens rarely
And to very few.

This was the path I chose to follow
The consequences, I was prepared to face.

Was there really any choice?
Little else mattered
The ups, downs, twists, turns or pace.

No deals were discussed
No promises made.

No talk of what was expected
Or what dues had to be paid.
This was no trade.

You ask if I would go with you
leaving this city

When I am thinking ...
to the end of the world ...
and eternity.
