Just Being: The Musing Patterns Of The Other Eye

 Part 5: Abrupt Ending

The castled clouds he built

To mark the sword-ridden days

Will vanish at the turn of his time

But hooray, the knight too will be gone

Gone with his contemplative chair

Turning in impatient imagination’s wait

For the sun-struck ball to break

Into flat earths in angles coming round

Each with its own horizon, up and down

Gone will be the view

Whose shadow smiles in from the words he cleft

In praise of the vision ascended

Into his eyes shut tight

Not the mystical revelation in light

Just a discovery of more than I see

In the musing patterns of this other eye

Which follows

Every note I sing to me

With the flick of a conductor’s wrist

Obeyed in the waxing and waning

Of the symphony played from beginning

To abrupt ending.
