Giggle-Giggle! My
eye for your eyes; Could
give up one, if
I could take away two. It
was simple: Life
for a life. Your
son had to go to
follow my father in heaven; Simple
revenge for my mother who
died in his grief. I
let you stay back in this hell, so
that we could cancel each
other’s counts. Gave
up my brother’s legs, for
your uncle’s hands. My
house in flames demanded
at least your
cows to be stolen. Your
wife had to be raped, after
my sister was kidnapped. Just
started very simple, one
for the other as
simple counts; Our
scores never evened. There
was always too much on
one side, to be evened. Scoring got out of hand. Hearts
never knew to count, for
they controlled the head. We
counted bullets, measured
blood flows, weighed
our pains. You
cried when I pulled the
trigger, only in reaction to
your knife throw on my back. Could
we start all over again? Start
at a zero score. Zero
for me and same for you. Can
we go back to the times, when
my grand mother played on
your great grand uncle’s lap? Giggling,
happy, innocent, before
we were not even a gleam in
anyone’s eyes. Would
we not be happier with
zero on either side? Nothing
is better than anything. Sometimes,
zero is the best number. Would
we not be happy counting
giggles, instead; Your
daughter and mine may
have a giggling contest! It is a win-win; giggle-giggle! ~KRS Murthy~
