A Flower in Our Midst

In every life, somewhere there's a flower nearby,
Maybe in your midst, very lovely and very shy,
Dreaming dreams tenderly, charming as can be,
All innocent, with starlit eyes, which dost beauty see.

In the twinkling of a moment, laughter rings out,
With the charm of this flower and what she's about,
Lovely as a lotus, clinging to the sea water blue,
Brings back memories of a little girl I once knew.

Her smile would bubble over at the joy of it all,
Living life to the fullest, sweet and nostalgic to recall;
Precious memories, how they do keep lingering on,
About this flower in our midst, Lord, bring her home.

We miss the tenderness of her sweet charming smile,
Miss her brightness whenever she's gone awhile.
The fullness of her beauty comes from deep within,
Lord; bring this flower into our midst again.
