Diverse Poetic Gifts

I may not write your poem or your song.
It is not yours to pen the things I do.
‘Tis arrogance to call each other wrong
Because I do not think the same as you.
The gifts we have will never be the same.
Diversity brings richness to the earth.
Variety in technique or in fame
Does not mean that we differ in our worth.
Each thought must find its poet who will write
In ways that other people never can.
Each gift is given to someone to light
The path ahead to guide his fellow man.
The form is immaterial to the art.
Our goal is for the thought to reach a heart.
