Compulsive Artists

Waves of feeling
distorting images

the reality of which
stands true

the reflection in our eyes
blurring turbulent

shifting to fit us in

our thoughts, our emotions
our perceptions

creating havoc within us

moving disturbing changing
reality as we see it

creating a world
of sketched images

sometimes beautiful
sometimes ugly

but nevertheless
our creations

to rejoice or rue

where individuality remains
unchanged unmarred

each aches for an acceptance

struggling to swim through
this sea of emotions

thirsting for something
just out of reach

yet again that ripple
becomes a whirlpool

yet another image another world

we try to crumble erode
what was dear to us

to suit a picture
of our own making

sadly losing our way

compulsive artists
these waves of 'self'

could we overcome....
