Yesterday I saw the moon
Shining through the clouds
Yesterday it was full and high
Just like it was that night
Yesterday I called for him
Deep within my mind
Yesterday was soft and sweet
Just like the moon was bright
Yesterday I thought of things
That lay asleep in dreams
Yesterday I stood awake
Staring at the dew
Yesterday was so wonderful
When did it begin?
Yesterday is not today
And today is all I have got
But today is better than
Not having yesterday at all
