The Windows Of My Soul
The eyes are the windows of the soul, 'tis said,
And I have gazed into yours.. deep inside;
The heart is the doorway to the soul, 'tis said,
And you've invited me in to abide.
Why should I feel so pleasantly at home
When I've never been here before?
Could it be you've told me so often that
For me your heart's an open door?
You've accepted me as I really am,
For you look only upon my heart;
Knowing that it beats only for you
Whether we are near...or apart.
You say I have eyes that are smiling,
And you wonder to what this is due;
The reflection of satisfaction within
My eyes no doubt projects from you.
So the windows of my soul remain open
And I'm inviting you to come inside;
Approach my soul via the doorway,
But tread carefully.. should you choose to abide.
