When we parted...

I feel my wasted mind
Filled with vacant thoughts.
Icicles frosted
On the walls of my heart,
As if they naturally belonged.
Snow swept soul,
A white sheet of monotony.

Songless howl
Of daily life
Routine faces
A grey kaleidoscope
Of non-entities
Filling existence like cobwebs
Pretending they were truth and aim.

I remember
The smell of rain soaked earth,
Scented air of lilacs in bloom,
The feel of just born grass
Under my unshod feet,
The discordant harmony
Of native wasps,
Intoxicating.

I remember
Shy breeze flowing
Through ray-riddled boughs,
Dew bound moss,
Rising mist caressing
The tall pine trees.
The rain drops on rose petals
Reminding me
Of the tears on your cheeks
When we parted
And said good bye.
