View From The Hilltop

I find it amazing how so many thoughts
Can be so deeply rooted
Can be so deeply fraught
With so much indecision caused by things uncaught.
I find it amazing as I stand up on the hill
And view the dale below me
And contemplate the will.
To never know where I should stand to be quite calm and still.
I find it amazing that the answer's hard to find
As I peer into my inner self
As I peer into my mind.
That I may never lift the fruit completely from the rind.
I find it amazing that I can be both rock and sand
Here inside the heart of me
Here inside the hand
Here upon the hilltop of the life in which I stand.
I find it amazing and guess I always will
How the answer's ever fleeting
How the answer's never still
As I stand upon the hilltop and hear the question shrill.
