In Transition

You have waited for ages

Reviewing life’s many stages

The conflict within your bosom raged

Every possible outcome gauged

Hesitant before a step so bold

A foot on the threshold

Staring at the apparition

Your own life in transition

Looking at the past so pure

And all the pain you did endure

To keep that sheet as white as snow

And yet you are now ready to let go

In a trance you take that stride

Once again a virgin bride

Staring at the apparition

You own life in transition

The joy you feel now makes you whole

Reliving those moments that you stole

For yourself from a life ordained

And for once you feel you have gained

Something for you and you alone

Not a sin for which you atone

Now you smile at the apparition

Your own life in transition.
