Slashed Wrists

Blue veins like little streams
secure in their forest of brown skin
they mock me, my own hands
as you mocked me
the only one I called my own....

I see fingers trembling with the blade
waiting to do its deadly dance
as I falter, one last time
a small step from the precipice
that you took me to....

Thinking back and wondering
as I cut tentatively at first
how did you turn so deaf
that this was the only way left open
to make myself heard...

A small gash following another
like I followed while you led
the whiteness becoming crimson
the way you sullied us
spoilt our wonderful paradise...

Is that a gasp or a wail
It pains so much, oh God
blood spraying all over
my hands screaming with agony
taking me away from you...

Wait.. before dizziness overtakes me
I want to see your face
your mesmeric eyes, your curly hair
so heart-stopping
spinning a web around me...

Who's victory was it anyway
yours, who left me
or mine, who leaves this world
you are yet my very own
only a heaven separates us now...

Forgive me, my darling
I just couldn't take it anymore
look at these hands, my love
bloodless, white and limp
they walked with your hands once...

Why is your face so hazy
it was so clear a moment ago
why is your voice so faint
it was in my ears all this while
please come back to me...

Don't curse me sweetheart
I was always weak
you gave me strength once
and now it flows from me
drop... by drop... by drop...

I am so tired now
hold me, please just this once
save me from this cold
give me your warmth forever
before my eternal sleep.
