Saying Goodbye To Memories

If one looked into my eyes at this moment,
And were asked what they actually could see;
They would no doubt see all the turmoil.
That is hidden...deep inside of me.

Present only at times of vulnerability,
And sometimes oh, so hard to bear;
Consuming all my thoughts and energy,
So many heartaches are hidden there.

Alone with my thoughts, the tears flow freely,
Along with them are many memories too;
Of days gone by, never to be seen again,
Mem’ries that can only be shared by two.

My heart is heavy, my strength is drained,
But I know that time changes all things;
The wounds will disappear, the smile will return,
And with it, good things that the future brings.

And so I will take this special part of my life,
And enclose it in the deepest area of my heart;
Making room for future mem’ries to come..
When this day passes, a brand new one will start.
