MOTIVE !
Just because my poems
are emotive
You don't have to delve deep for a motive
What I write may not be what I feel
But rather feelings others try to conceal
They may or may not be my own experiences
Perhaps a collection of others' utterances
Not just a single incident or circumstance
Could be many thoughts collected in a trance
Sometimes a collection of stories I'm told
That I weave into one plot to unfold
A drama that I from fiction create
And with mysterious aura decorate
I don't apologize it they somehow ring true
But honestly, it's not about him, her or you.
So just let the rhythm and rhyme flow through the heart
If you delve too deep, the poem will fall apart
Like a house of cards that I have built
Each word a card or my thoughts distilled
That I have put together without any glue
Sometimes the poet simply has no clue
So please don't ask me who is the muse
To write poetry one doesn't need a ruse
One can see romance in a candle flame
Or convey tragedy by using Othello's name
Feel pathos by staring into starving eyes
Paint happy pictures using incorrigible lies
In they end they are just words offered to you
When you read them accept whatever comes to view.
If you sense mystery, then mysterious they are
Or the moan of the sand dunes that come from afar
Don't trample into the mud something that's sublime
By asking me for whom I created this rhyme.
