Good evening sir/madam
With folded hands we greet
We're so glad you came here
To choose something to eat
We're here to serve you
The best that our chef can cook
Relax and enjoy the ambience
Don't think of your pocketbook
But excuse me, sir
We really don't mean to be rude
Though the prices may seem high
You're only paying for the food
You don't own this place
Even though you may pay
There are others who come here
Throughout the day
So try not to be arrogant
When you talk to the "boys"
Just because they serve you
They're not your "toys"
The napkins we've placed here
Are not for you to blow your nose
And why pinch our flowers?
Can't you BUY her a rose?
That's a table not a tabla
So please control your hand
In a few moments from now
There'll be a live band
There's no need to shout, sir
A simple nod will do
We are here to serve sir
And we'll come running to you
So please don't bang the table
Or hit the plate with your spoon
You can see that we're busy
And will be with you soon
Now what is wrong sir?
Is it the food or the bill?
Why has your voice
Suddenly become so shrill?
You could have told us
When we served you the dish
We would have taken care, sir
It there was something amiss
If there was a roach in the food
You should have told us so
But you ate the food with relish
And never even let us know
Don't worry, sir
You need not come back to us
We really don't need customers
Who make such a fuss
All those others sitting here
Don't have to look far to see
That you're being difficult
So that your meal is free
We're here to serve you
And we try to give you the best
So now please stop insulting us
And put our patience to test
Maybe you wish to impress
The embarrassed lady beside you
We really feel very sorry, sir
For you and for her too
This is a restaurant sir
You merely come here for food
And just because you pay for it
You have no cause to be rude
Please leave this place sir
Or we'll have to evict you
Let the others eat in peace
And enjoy the ambience too
