PILLOW TALK

An experiment in consonance

I have been laundered, dried and lavendered;
Then, freshly plumped, laid smoothly on her bed.

I listened to the sighed-out secrets breathed
One stolen night of love, the lady's head
Warm-nestled in my folds. And all she dreamed
Is known to me; and everything she said
Aloud-- believing there was none who heard
Those silken syllables of joy, exhaled
At passion's peak; consonants' soft-gurgled
Soon-welling urgency, their meanings bred
Unconsciously within her soul, and made
To thus articulate her pleasure, fed
By satiated sense, that quickly led
Through maze of verbal ecstasy, and told
Deliciously by tongue so sweet-employed.

And now I have revealed the lady's deed.
