What is this need
that begs to be filled
This thirst
that needs quenching..

Vacant eyes
Empty hearts
A constant search
for something..

People around
then what is missing
What is it
that each is looking for..

Why these self made prisons
hiding behind the masks
restrictive lonely
What holds us back..

Just one caring word
or thoughtful hand
-a drop in the ocean
Why is it flooding our eyes..

Such a phenomenal need
in each heart
How are we missing
this reaching out right beside us..

An aching emptiness
This need for a soothing touch
yearning hopeful
maybe chimeric..

Strange warmth so familiar
filling up corners
unknown to us
Are we so incomplete..

A lifetime of pain
barely held in
What are we doing
to one another..

Each person incomplete
left wanting
Why are we closing our hearts
like this..

Is togetherness suffocating
when did we forget to grow
Has love become an unending search
-just out of reach....
