Our
love is cemented as
I smile into your eyes The
pain is melted as
if it never existed behind
the closed doors and the
four walls that surrounded. Your
eyes it seems don't care any
longer...they rest on me but
for a moment...and in a flash back
to the television or the newspaper Soon
a bell rings and your eyes shift
to the telephone. My
eyes follow your hands lovingly and
admire your silhouette even
after twenty one years... I
force back to my mind the pleasant
memories of the past that
help me live for the future. Now
your eyes are on the food
I made through the morning but
you are merely reminded of your
mothers cooking...and silently like
milk I am coming to a boil... I
realise with a wry smile that
all these miles I
have walked a road which
was marked by a
signboard that said "ONE
WAY TRAFFIC". Yet
our love is cemented as
I smile into your eyes and
wait for the pain to melt and
fresh flowers to bloom within
my four walls that shield me from the world... ~Vinita Ganesh~
