Olivia's Arrival

Ten long years they waited without complaint,
Parenthood just didn’t seem to come their way;
How long they had yearned for a child to hold
In their arms . Then came the long awaited day.
Her little face was like a newly blossomed rosebud,
The color of her cheeks reflect a reddish glow;
Gazing on the miracle that God had performed.. no
Greater reward exists on this earth, they know.

Her little eyes, hopelessly trying to remain open,
She squirms, she squeaks...wiggles in daddy’s arms;
Her skin feels as smooth as the softest velvet,
Such love for this child pours forth like sweet balms.

To look in a little baby’s sweet little face,
And all the innocence that is present there;
Little blinks of the lashes, could she be dreaming?
Or are little angel wings touching her hair?

The cycle goes on, and will be repeated in time,
The future is hers to find and eventually hold;
But Olivia is now just a tiny bundle of joy,
Worth much more than her weight in gold

The future has changed for her Mommy and Dad,
No longer will their lives be entirely their own;
A part of themselves now has center place,
Happiness is theirs such as they’ve never known
