My Awesome Aussie

It seems like many many moons ago,
Since we first met, Christopher and I;
The computer and I were just making friends,
So many things I was eager to try.

ICQ was the way to go, I was told..
You could travel the world over, it seems;
But Australia! Who would ever had thought!
Not me, not even in my wildest dreams!

But sure enough, one day "uh-oh" I heard,
I answered it, wondering..where to this time?
Before long it became perfectly clear..I had
Encountered a friendship that would forever be mine.

My first contact with the country of Australia,
Was made very pleasant and informative, too..
For Chris in his poetic way described his great land,
And in my mind's eye..my visits seemed true.

As time went on, my friend encountered problems,
That shook his very existence..changing his life;
His heart was breaking..decisions had to be made,
He graciously allowed me to share in his strife.

From that time on, Chris and I have remained friends,
Our mem'ries, some untold, will always be a part of us;
Once in a while, we take a trip down memory lane,
We renew our close friendship, one of complete trust.

Australia will always remain very dear to my heart,
For I know that I have a dear friend living there;
And if someday our paths should ever meet,
The celebration of true friendship we'd share.

So I say to you, Chris, have a long and happy life,
You have finally found your happiness at last;
Remember me as the years go sailing by, (they do, you know)
For I will remember you.. and our special times past.
