MEMORIES....
We were too quick to conclude and condemn
Too fast to change our goals
Tides turned and our ways parted
Fate dictated and we played our roles;
Without understanding the bond we would sever
losing in the process each other for ever
We let each other move away
Only memories are now here to stay.
Joy was the first to go
And then some pain
It was unbearable misery
But we learnt to live again
Going through the motions, imagining
Brand new love came with a brand new day
But the memories just wont go away
Its bliss and anguish are here to stay.
They bring a warm glow of happiness
Secure memories of purest joy
And hurt and pain of the final row
The smiles only bring tears in tow.
I want to forget, so I can start again
With a clean slate without this pain
But they were felt so deeply, they won't sway
My memories of you just wont go away.
Thoughts of what might have been
Of the life which has passed us by
Makes me cry again in vain
Bringing back the pain again.
The ache too is here to stay
Like the happy memories of another day
Of the joy you brought me every day
Knowing we belonged together in every way.
As long as there is life, there is hope
That's what I have heard the wise ones say;
In our case will we get another chance
To right the wrongs of our thoughtless ways
To hear and see each other's view
To look forward to the future anew
If we could, it would be a wonderful day
For happiness would again return to stay.
For, we would finally understand and know
That we can't hurt each other so
It was the tide of life that had taken a hand
And mischief making fate's wand
Which brought us to this miserable day
Leaving memories of all that was right
Of the Heaven we gave up without a fight
We gave all our happiness away
It's in our hands to bring it back today.
