LIQUID DIAMONDS

Tumultuous emotion comes to rest
Even though a silence separates
A vast terrifying stillness that tests
The uncertainties besetting the spirit
A time to disengage from passions
And reflect on what it truly connotes
The answers are uncomplicated, 
Very natural
When one is talking to ones soul
Without having to delve deep
Without restraint without misgivings
Without reassurances which serve to keep
Just lucid, flawless, untainted 
Liquid diamonds
Unfettered and free

When the mind is hushed
And the heart illustrates the way
Completing the silent response
Now, I recognize the shadowed paths 
Although not a word did it say
In this time of quiet reckoning,
Of looking into the psyche
Seeing its initial burst of flame 
Emerging from a golden ember
Of an innocently uttered phrase
A whole universe in that first flare
I see
As it grows into a raging blaze.
