DARK ANGEL

Stand beside me hold my hand,
Take my head upon your lap,
Dark angel, from my mystery land,
Fill my longing close this gap.

Help me stand up help me walk,
Lead me to the fountain of youth,
Listen to me while I talk,
Cleanse me of all that’s uncouth.

Unfold your wings spread them wide,
Wrap them over this withered shell,
Halt this old and aging tide,
Save me from this fiend’s hell.

Dark angel, fly and come to me
Across the vast tract of eternity,
Dress me in robes of crimson silk,
Make me queen of all my ilk.

Forlorn I gaze upon the sky,
Waiting, for your heralding cry,
Night on night I strain to hear,
But, Dark angel is nowhere near.

People, places have no means,
To see this glorious, unfolding scene,
Mountaintops incandescent glow,
I bow my head and touch my brow.

On my knees, I pray to you
Make obeisance in all I do,
Lovely Lady of my soul,
Hear my voice make me whole.

From the shade of the sacred grove,
Dark angel steps out on a beam,
Her presence fills my treasure trove,
We dance the dance of our dreams.

I dance till the body falls away,
Leaving me with only lightness,
I dip, I bend, I bow and sway,
My youth returns,
Where once I was sightless.

Wings open then folding over me,
Darkness is all I see,
A pleasant obscurity, of the womb
My Mother,
I come home to thee.
