Changeless Change

Green fields now black
Bright sun but strained

brittle, warm but cooler
Sky blue, hard not soft
Seagulls follow ploughman
Soon Lapwings will return
Sea grey, dark depths oily calm
Waves crested white
Cormarant prays, wings black
outstretched, receiving sun's strength
Autumn has come !
The World turns and seasons advance
England comforts me as ever
Changeless change
