The Brilliance Of A Fall Sky

This morning when I awoke, I could see
Such beauty as the eyes rarely behold;
All I had to do was look toward heaven,
Where all of God’s handiwork can be told.

What did I see? Clouds of billowy white,
Accompanied by a network of a deep purple hue;
Never have I felt closer to my creator than now,
With all this magnificence clearly in view.

The sun makes its appearance thru parting clouds,
Enhancing the colors... I am mesmerized now;
Not wanting to tear my eyes away , I indulge,
Letting my eyes behold this heavenly glow.

The sun plays hide and seek, playfully peeking thru
The clouds being blown swiftly along.. roughly
Tearing the leaves from the nearly bare trees.
I watch as they gracefully float to the ground.

I stand amazed at this phenomenal display,
Feeling privileged to have this moment in time;
Soon the moment is lost amid earthly demands,
My eyes leave the heavens and its beauty sublime.

As the day passes on, the vision still lingers,
Bringing a smile to my heart and my face;
Giving thanks for the awesomeness of my God,
Who allowed me to share in His moment of grace..
