Look beyond the masks

Past lives
or relationships
do we have the insight
to recognize
as our
subconscious
naturally drifts
towards another

a bond of
maybe lifetimes
pulling the strings
of our life today

Is this life
an adventure
a mystery
yet to be solved
as we unravel it
one by one
in each lifetime
like a costume party

where we feel the person
the sense of him
try to recognize
and look beyond the masks

What makes us
hesitate
question
stop to think
like parts of a
dream
fragmented
coming back

Or soul recognition
in wonder and awe
self-deprecating
rueful
cynical maybe
but nevertheless
irrefutable

where you simply
can't help
looking back
yet again....
