A LESSER DELUGE
Rainbows are possible today
In this liquid sky of shadowed clouds;
A dewy sun wades through their rifts,
Shining out in lucent rays which bathe
Soaked trees and grass in dancing light.
A silver rain begins to fall,
Sol shines on, and there it is! -----
A gentle arch in heaven stretching,
Paradisally-tinted, Noah's oft-repeated pledge.
