OUR ROMANCE

The nearly setting, sanguine sun

    caressed the ocean’s crest

And at that point, where the two touched

    the sunset paused at rest.

For moments the two joined in time

as would a pare of friends

And then departed company

    as the pale sun descends.

The moon arrived to say hello

    to the ocean’s expanse

And whispered to the white caps there,

    “Is life not our romance?”
