Karma Goes
Trick-O-Treating
(5th in saga of Karma)
Hi again, it’s
me…Karma!
Sending a big hello from Santa Fe,
I’ve another story to tell you
About Halloween…and me!
It’s that time of year again
When ghosts and goblins alike
Are prowling the streets and lurking
In the blackness of the night.
My mistress tries to assure me
She’ll be right there by my side,
I wonder why that doesn’t seem
To make my anxiety subside.
My costume even scares me
I'm shaking like a leaf!
Of course the treats are tempting,
But at what cost to me? Good grief!
Each time the doorbell rings I hide,
Not knowing what next will appear,
Whether it be ghoul, green monster or vampire,
I’m frozen in my tracks with fear!
I hope I’ll survive ‘til the next holiday,
So I can celebrate Thanksgiving,
After tangling with all those spooks,
I’m just praying I’ll still be living.
