Teacher's Day!!

I want to celebrate Teacher's Day
In the Modern, modern way
We have to uphold a tradition
And pass it to the next generation!

There is just a week left
And I have so much to do yet!
Dad dish out twenty thousand bucks
A new outfit will cost at least that much!!

Flaunting a designer dress is the trend
And I can't be different from my friends!
Also, a matching bag, sandals and some chunky jewellery
After all attitude is determined by these accessories!!

Besides, I need beauty treatment at the saloon
I want to be the diva over whom boys swoon!
Countless phone calls, endless consultations with friends
And I felt prepared to continue the modern trend.

Finally, the great day dawned
And I got dressed early morn
In my flashy car, I arrived in style
Looking chic and cool with a camera and mobile.

Then began the 'oohs' and 'aahs'
The hugging and cooing, 'You're looking gorgeous yar!'
Clicking photographs was next on the itinerary
That's the way to preserve memories for posterity.

At eleven arrived the much awaited Dee Jay
And then began Our dance of Teacher's Day
None of us entered the assembly hall
It was outside that we were having a ball!

The special assembly was attended by the junior ones
As the outgoing class we were entitled to our fun!
We danced  with abandon till the clock struck two
Our party didn't end, we simply shifted our venue!!

At 'Machaan' began the real fun time
A lavish lunch with red and white wine!
Loud and boisterous, our presence was felt
We the 'cool dudes' living life with a zest!

There was a fight, some bruised ego and a few broken glasses
But no problems, we just paid for the losses.
A little ruckus was expected, you see
We were all high on 'Ecstasy'!!

We boogied for hours before calling it a day
Oh wow! what a super Teacher's Day!!
Only when my head touched the pillow did I remember
That we hadn't wished a single teacher!!

Oh well! now what do I say
This is the modern way to celebrate Teachers Day!!!
