A  peep into the deep recesses of my soul
Trying to seek that which makes me whole
A poetic odyssey is what I had in mind
So I ventured forth not knowing what I would find
In this quest to discover the poet in me
I scaled high mountains and plunged into stormy seas...

When on a plateau - flat as a table
I was Neera - so sure and stable.
The confident woman and mother in me
Helped give birth to a wonderful dream - Kavitanjali
I spend many  happy hours with her
Loving and cherishing her like my daughter...

I touched the precipitous peaks of ecstasy
As Anak Sana Mun unfurled the world of fantasy
Going to places which no atlas shows
Those dreamy islands with endless shores,
With fields of nectar and landscape serene
Two hearts, two loves, one world so pristine.

On the beach just a Pebble I was
Musing about a love that was lost
On the sand I wrote words that my heart did say
But the torrential waves of life swept them away
So that was the end of Pebble
She just sank without a ripple...

At twilight I was just a pale Shadow
Loyal to the core, but so insipid and shallow
Half woman - hollow - this emptiness did resound
I was just a puppet, all fettered and bound
No thrills, no heartburn, no feelings intense
A deep void, nothing making sense

Mentally tired, emotionally dead
Into the arid desert I did tread
A mere Teardrop was bound to evaporate
Perhaps this was to be my fate!
Bruised and battered, tormented and torn
It was difficult for me to carry on...

Engulfed in darkness, such a dense mist
Would the pieces of this jigsaw ever fit?
Then a ray of light, back on the road of sanity
I now realize, this is God's way for humanity.
Some joy, some sorrow, some smiles, some tears
I've experienced them all over the years...

So now I've decided to don the role of Granny
Though not yet sure when my sons will marry
Here I want to share the lessons life has taught
Even though I acquired this comb after my hair was lost!
Granny 'O' is sure the best is yet to come
And I really look forward to becoming a grand mom.

So I'll just ramble on about me and you
Through poetry sharing life in all its myriad hues....
