All I Knew

I saw her on the sand as well
Her movements rising with the swell
Of sea and he who played for her
Those soft of sound and sensuous notes
With his fingers caressing the keys
And his lips the reed of his tenor sax.
She pirouetted then the sea
Would wash her gentle prints away.
For hours thus the three did play
'Til in the darkness all I knew
Was the imagined pas de deux.
