The
artist's paints and genes,
and whatever before his eyes lay
and inspired him to create
have come a long way
before
enabling him
to craft
his masterpiece of art

Even humble
acts
like brewing tea for our thirst
Isn't quite as simple as
just boiling water and some dust
To take full credit, one
must
make the water, fire and the tea leaves first

For wealth, power, success, talent
or any feat we can name
the ground work was laid well before
on this earth we came
Any changes along the way
-
we wouldn't have made it today

If there is anything at all
worthy of merit in me
I am blessed indeed
and grateful to Thee
who has made
all air, land and sea
and each and every bit of me
~

Nothing New - So many
have written similarly, giving their thanks
to The Creator.
Nothing's New - The ground work
for everything was laid long before
we came into the picture. There is nothing that we can
arrogantly take full credit for.
