DAYDREAMING

I see you standing there

Just like that day you had

But this time I come not sedate

But race into your arms instead

We walk to the rainbow land

As we had that summer day

This time we don’t walk besides

But in your arms I lovingly sway

The Maid waits patiently anchored

Overflowing excitement to the brim

Now we hold our hands firmly

And together in enchantment swim

Your eyes twinkle and sparkle

As they have done a million times

This once, I see in them a deep need

That being apart seems almost a crime

As the sun warms my face petal pink

I feel this yearning bright and bold

Dreams are for free are they not

Then why live sadly in the cold…
