A WALK IN THE SKIES

Smiling, he said to me “Let’s walk the skies”

I peered at him, wondering why,

For we stood miles high above the earth

Enclosed in a tower full of worth;

With a look of intrigue he gestured there,

To a glass floor that was laid with care,

And with half a smile walked away from me,

Leaving me gasping and a bit tizzy;

Gently he urged me to join in the rare thrill

Of sky walking that needed no skill,

Shaken & white, seeking the strength of his arm

Stepped I into nothing, pretending calm;

High above, with his essence flowing in mine,

With the world spiraling below did I find,

That as breathe came slowly back into my lungs,

It was courage that came from a song my heart sung.
